Many of you are collecting signatures on a petition for the very first time. As a person who has collected names over the years, off and on, for various causes [renter’s rights, women’s rights, voter registration, etc] and a person well versed in the stigma associated with pot along with the blurred lines concerning patients and stoners, I’d like to offer up a few observations that I have encountered as I also gather names. 1. After your circle of friends, neighborhood [if you feel comfortable...

“Up to now in my story, the memoirs of me and Miss Green have come about from me smoking marijuana but the plant, the entire plant, is something that goes back to the fog-shrouded mists of Thor’s Day. I can state this because aside from the social aspects of my memoirs, the ‘highlights’ of my collection you might say, the real origin for the autobiography of my alter ego is a direct result of Mary Jane’s divine connection to the mists of antiquity. Please again consult the very excellent book, G...

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN WRITE From being in an award-winning high school drill team, I can tell you that in life, there are four kinds of people. There are people in the parade; there are people watching the parade; there are people trying to disrupt the parade; and there are people saying, “What parade?” The last group is representative of Carrie Moss’ Matrix line, “Your men are already dead.” The third group of people is the people we fight because they produce the lies and disinformation. The...

The main reason people don’t like a law is they are hard to understand. They are made this way by lawyers purposely; however there is a way to defeat this, especially for a group. In the coming months a second ‘legal weed’ petition is set to be circulated. Presented here for the 420Nurses is a copy of the exact wording to be dissected for feedback. I have my section that I don’t like but we will save that for a later discussion. May I suggest that a group of four to five get together and each ...

If 1963 marked the end of the DRAGNET generation then 1964 seemed to mark the beginning of the ‘hip’ generation. I say that because in 1964 the young people I met (high school seniors or less) were ‘hip’ to the war, ‘hip’ to the ‘system’, ‘hip’ to the ‘separate but equal’ fallacy, and ‘hip’ to pot. This was a lot of ‘hipness’ to come from one generation I remember thinking to myself, as I encountered young person after young person all expressing the same cosmic view on the dismal condition of t...

WHAT IS NEWS? “In the beginning was the word” but since, that ‘word’ has been distorted, disguised, and deemed to deny both the sisterhood of women and the destiny of cannabis. Now the 420Nurses are launching a NEWS site project to correct for that deviation. News is anything you haven’t heard before that has a verifiable source; otherwise it is gossip, rumor, or innuendo. News is reported. Since mainline news sources are reliant on mainline advertisers, they are reluctant to cover anything ...

The three of us laughed and talked that morning away. We had so much fun. The scene from the uncut version of the movie NINE TO FIVE comes closest to what we shared, minus the prospect of revenge on Dabney Coleman’s character, of course. Before they rolled the second joint they asked me what I thought, and I had to admit that I did not see what all the fuss was about. “Er, what was the question again?” I had experienced something that I would later learn as loss of short-term memory. Leroy tol...

After a couple of days went by I quizzed my roommate about his pot use. Dyno Den (his college nickname) explained to me that smoking grass in the big cities, he was from New York, was something that was done on a regular basis among the young people who were hip to the scene. Older folks, the authorities, and ‘hicks’ like me, however, held the opposite view, which was why he and his friends ‘toweled’ the windows and door to avoid detection. If pot didn’t readily lead to heroin addiction, why wa...

STARTING A NEWS CORPS The NEWS.420Nurses.com is a new venture startup for the reasons outlined in Part 2. Though beginning small with only a few member Nurses, those who have initiated an interest in writing to ChaCha, the hope and goal of this branch is to become a corps, a news corps. With that goal in mind, it is important to have a moral center toward the news, the subjects of the news, and your fellow 420Nurses News sisters. Honesty, compassion, accuracy, and fellowship are our corps val...

[Editor's Note: Chapters 1-19 were finished and written in 2001] Chapter 1 How I First Met Mary Jane Hello, my name is PT Rothschild and I’m an ex-pot smoker. As such I am writing this book for several reasons. The first and foremost reason is that you will never have any government expert or scientist, laboring under a grant, write a study and tell you the truth about pot. The second reason is now that I have quit smoking pot I can come forward and say things about pot without a hint of repe...

EXPANDING YOUR TARGET MARKET – FLIP THE SCRIPT Up to now we have been dealing with becoming news writers, officially, and supplying our readers, medical marijuana patients and their fans, with news different from all the other cannabis reader outlets. We want to expand our readers’ minds pass just looking at our, well, yours anyway, bodies. We want to expand their minds past the 'boobs with brains' concept you get from a top shelf blunt. We want to change society and them more in the way two jo...

By 1966 I was starting to see cracks in the theory of rightness with which we were fighting the war in ‘Nam. The music that I listened to had taken a decidedly serious detour from the usual ‘I gotta have you, babe’ and was speaking out on issues of the day, namely the environment, the war, civil rights, and stirring feelings of equality in women. Being single, I was running with members of a local band aptly named the Midnighters who played weekends over at the lounge in the bowling alley. Austi...

A LOOK AT THE COMPETING LEGAL WEED INITIATIVE Temecula, CA – Recently I posted a story about an opinion I had called, ‘The Weed of Ego…’. After it was posted I realized that I was acting an activist and not a reporter. In the interest of being fair and balanced, I decided to investigate this second initiative more fully. After the jump, I have three links a very cordial gentleman named Dave Hodges sent me for my query about his motivation and organization. From what I have seen, the pot scene ...

A few days ago the Obama administration issued what to some is called a first step forward toward government marijuana acceptance, at least medical acceptance of marijuana. I am sure people like Lanny Swerdlow and those in the Human Solution are drinking the kool-aid, though I hope not. The people here are different however, and that’s why I became a part of this organization. Starting tomorrow there will be a serialized blog, daily posting an excerpt from the book I have on sale at Amazon. The...

Hello fellow Nurses, patients, and fans of 420. The following is from a story I posted recently and the first of two blogs concerning the active petition drive to legalize all cannabis use in 2014 - LEGAL IN FOURTEEN Originally the story was redacted since I publish on an open public platform but this site is private, I feel, so here is the unredacted version. For these end times Jesus said, “Be aware”. That theme is central to most of the articles posted here. Usually we cover things like fo...
