Washington D.C. has become the de facto corporate Crown of the country with the high court now a board of directors. Congress is the plutocracy's group of career revolving door shareholders. If D.C. were somehow transported to another dimension, 49.5% of the financial woes presently sinking the country would be eliminated. Wall Street represents the other 49.5%.

Occupy is primarily saying to everyone, 'Democracy is ours to make. Look out your window, see what is happening to the country, to the world, to the people; stop watching sports and follow the money, because money is what this is all about.' For Republicans, 'it's money that matters in the USA!' - Randy Newman

The material greed concept is in direct conflict with every positive metaphysical theme found in print. The people of Occupy LA understood this principle both in the political and the spiritual sense rather than the religious way. Yet JC did diss the love of money/bling-bling/'nothing sold we didn't mold' GMO salmon crowd with the classically hip, "Man lives not by 'bread' alone".

I was proud to be a part of this 'chosen gathering' who answered the call as the love of money is the root all evil and the promotion of money in God's name is blasphemy.

Looking back on this called congregation, the dynamics from the group changed my opinion regarding Mary Jane in a very fundamental way.

For this entire memoirs story, I have been 'a rebel', a legend in my own mind. I smoked and toked as an outlaw, or so I rationalized it to myself. In truth, I treated Mary Jane like a man dating a woman of a different race or religion, afraid to be caught or seen with her outside our mutual circle of friends while parading her to them as being liberal.

A fear of being publicly outted as 'a stoner' was the primary reason, especially after the federal government pushed more prohibition/disinformation onto the masses; more dashing to be an outlaw, a rebel, a 'Zorro' named Juan Valdez hand picking and hand rolling the best ganja, I said to myself.

You have to admit this was a lot more fun way of looking at things than through standard thinking. The people I smoked out with at OLA all had their doctor's recommendations and they didn't romanticize about their pot smoking. It wasn't a waiting room so folks didn't sit around complaining about their ailments but I found out anyway being an investigative journalist, an 'embed'.

It wasn't that I hadn't been in the presence of medical marijuana patients before, just that this was different. Camping and geo-politics had made me one with them. A month after they shut down Occupy LA, I returned to Los Angeles and sought out a doctor that had been referred to me for my marijuana recommendation. I paid to free MJ Green at less than half the advertised price in the trendy valley that I live in. Duh, I am Jewish, lol.

After leaving the doctor's office with my recommendation [doctors are not allowed to 'prescribe' marijuana by degree of the Federal government] I walked down the street to the bus stop. Being at OLA got me very acclimated to the 99% level of the mega city that is also LA. Public transit is the poor man's chauffeur.

Some areas of LA have narrow sidewalks but not the area of residential Venice that I was in for the pot doc. A group of three or four city folk was in the bus stop bench area proper, but about 25 feet away from the group sat a man on some parking lot curbing all by himself. Atop his head he wore a Rasta beanie, not an uncommon sight on the streets of Los Angeles. I walked down toward the bus stop area until I was midway between the man sitting on the curbing and the group at the bench. I tend to be a loner.

Standing there for maybe a minute or two max, I began to catch a whiff of Mary Jane coming my way. I walked over to the seated man and said, "I just got my rec. Can I have a toke to celebrate?"

He smiled and handed the joint up to me. I even got to keep the roach for later. Though almost too pat, looking back on it now with the Bible connection noted, it fits the bill. Whether by 'magic' or divine will, having someone there to celebrate with you, a total random stranger at that, right after getting your recommendation is icing on the cake. The power of Mary Jane to make friends is like having a hot girlfriend who is cool to everyone she meets. - end part 13
