At Mardi Gras! Galveston, the extravagance found in Texas’ largest Mardi Gras celebration starts with the beads! More than 3 million beads will be thrown at Mardi Gras! Galveston and that’s just the beginning of the elaborate parades, headliner performances, family events, feasting and other festivities that come with hosting Mardi Gras island style.
We have a number of ways for YOU to be a part of Mardi Gras! Galveston 2014! WATCH, DANCE, RUN, ROLL or RIDE (or all of the above!).
WATCH…all your favorite Mardi Gras parades (including for the first time ever the Mystic Krewe of Aquarius and Krewe Gambrinus as they come to the Entertainment District) from a balcony party on the Strand! Balcony parties include admission into the Entertainment District, access to the balcony party with cash bar and music and a VIP view of the Mardi Gras festivities!
DANCE…the Hokey Pokey with the 4th Annual Funky Uptown Umbrella Brigade and help us top 1500 dancers! This FREE event offers families, friends, corporate groups, organizations and individuals a chance to do a little dance, have a little fun and get down tonight. Register Today!
RUN…the NEW! Jolly Jester Jaunt 5K-ish Costumed Run for Fun to start the party early! The first 300 runners registered receive a FREE ½ day Balcony Party Ticket!!! Register Today!
ROLL… with the 3rd Annual Zaniest Golf Cart Parade! Golf Cart parade entries receive FREE entry into the Entertainment District & Best Decorated Golf Cart gets FREE Balcony Party Passes! Register Today!

12:00pm- Mystic Krewe of Aquarius Kick-Off Parade Mystic Krewe of Aquarius 29th annual Mardi Gras Parade "The Lights of Broadway"- 12:00 noon. One of Mardi Gras premiere parades will have a new route in 2014 begining at 57th street and Seawall at 12 noon and making it's way downtown to the Strand Entertainment District. The olorful family parade will be lead by our spectacular Royal Court, Krewe members & 10 Aquarius floats. The 28th annual parade will also feature over 50 units including 15 high stepping marching bands and dance teams. for the most and best beads do not miss this big parade. 6:00pm- Krewe of Gambrinus Parade -Krewe of Gambrinus Lights up the Night Parade – 6:00pm. King Gambrinus throws a party for 300,000 of his closest friends with over 650,000 throws. Searchlights will “Light Up the Night” as the parade processes down Seawall blvd from 57th Street to 25th Street (Rosenberg Avenue), then heads North on Rosenberg Avenue as Gambrinus Goes to Town in the fabulous Mardi Gras! Galveston Entertainment district. Mechanic Street and The Famous Strand will be packed with revelers who will enjoy the 12 Lighted Floats and Marching Bands as well as many other entries. Don’t miss this year as King Gambrinus XXV and HRH the Queen celebrate the Silver Anniversary.
