So I am truly so grateful for this New Year's as I could not have asked for a better time. I was able to get away for the holidays with my parents. We started off our trip by flying over to Baltimore then driving down to Washington D.C. to see the Capitol and the Smithsonian museums, and after we continued down to Richmond to see my Aunt. We went out to the historic Jamestown Settlement for a piece of early American History. We then boarded the Grandeur of the Seas with Royal Caribbean and had one of the easiest check ins I've experienced. I met many awesome young people that ended up being my dance partners throughout the trip and kept being complimented on the fact I dance confidently as if no one was watching. Like I came to dance so why not dance to my fullest? We then enjoyed a few days at sea, some formal nights for Christmas Eve and Christmas, and I actually went up to the gym a few times (out of 24 cruises, this is the first time I seriously went to the gym). We then had our port stops, which included, Saint Croix, Antigua, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Martin where the weather was beautiful island weather with the occasional rain that I never let feel like a downpour. All ports were heavenly, and my 420nurses potleaf high waisted bottoms helped be an easy ice breaker with many local people. After we had a few days at sea to head back to Baltimore and celebrate the New year. We danced in the new year and the tweeners kept trying to keep the party going til after 330am. And I, with a broken foot of course, tried to stay up late with them cause there were still people up. I was amazed by how social my adamantly not social ass ended up being as there are several people I hope to cruise with again in my contacts. Thank you Grandeur for an amazing cruise!
For the resolutions I basically just want to keep my self care going. More yoga with Baked Babe, more crunches and dancing, more going OUT to dance with friends, and just making sure i am at a place where I can go anywhere and know I am capable and can take care of myself and loved ones. Hopefully I'll be working up north with the bears of Sitka or on a farm either this year or next.
