But I haven't stopped being a nurse! Even though I have been lagging it personally, I met a mirror of myself at 4 am when I put gas. She was a young girl riddled with problems. I'm glad I got to save her life. If I had declined to help her she might have ended her life. She may not have said it directly, but her tone, demeanor, and story lead to it. Her legs were full of fresh road rash. She had her phone stolen. She was in tears as she called people for help and no one would respond. When we departed finally, she was able to stop crying and I reminded her the value of her life and the need her child had for her life to remain present.
