Hey 420Nurses,
So here's hoping everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is staying sane as we all gear up for the end of the year and the holidays (if you celebrate them). 2016 was an interesting year for me, definitely had some really great things happen, more than expected in all honesty so I have a tremendous amount to be grateful for! I also have anxiety, as long as we're being honest, as we move forward with this new chapter in our Country. I have hope that all of our diverse futures will be bright and prosperous, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I am concerned for so many. I don't want to be political, especially on here, but I sincerely hope we as a nation will stand for what's right and clearly what is not; together shoulder to shoulder lifting one another up instead of pointing fingers that only divide us further and tear us all down!
I haven't sat down and thought about personal goals for 2017 yet because I'm a famous procrastinator, but 1 thing I WILL be doing tomorrow is purchasing the intern kit so I guess I do have 1 goal in mind, jump into 420NURSES! Again, since we're being honest, this isn't something I ever pictured myself doing, I actually hated taking "selfies" , that's obviously changed if y'all ever view my Instagram page! However after a lot of therapy (for PTSD and a lot more to go) my view on many things has changed and will probably continue to change as I work to figure myself out so maybe I should save the goal thing for later. I'm super excited about getting my teeth fixed finally though, it'll make it much easier to get that smile back! It should all be complete by the end of March, YEAH!!! Honesty alert: DOING A HAPPY DANCE THINKING ABOUT HAVING MY SMILE BACK! Too bad they can't fix my jaw as well, but I'll take what I can get-FOR NOW! I will absolutely keep everyone posted on any new significant VA crap good or bad.
Finally - I sincerely wish for everyone to enjoy the final month of 2016, it's been a roller coaster for many, joyous and wonderful for some and devastating for too many. The violence is outrageous no matter who commits it or who it's committed against! I hope we can take these final 30 days to do some healing so I encourage everyone to take a little time for self-care and do something nice a neighbor, friend or do the ultimate nice for someone you don't know. Pick a name off that tree and make a kids, mom or seniors day! No matter how or who, help a fellow human being this holiday, not to "lift yourselves", but to lift somebody who needs that hand up (not just a hand-out!)
Peace to all; stay safe, stay sweet
