Christmas weekend chachavavoom, jimmy and I went on a small weekend getaway to our cabin in Big Bear. This was the first time I've been in years, and the first time I've gotten to take the cabin as my own. My dad showed me how to open and lock up the cabin (built in the 20s-30s) and from now on I will be able to visit and do more trips.
I am very excited to start working on the cabin and making it what we want it to be. It was chachas very first time staying in real snow, she had only seen it before. Its always special sharing these moments with my beautiful girl. And now we have a cabin in the woods we plan to disappear to every so often. It was a beautiful trip. 10 degrees but we kept each other warm. Jimmy stocked the cabin with firewood so we had enough for this trip and the next. The cabin has an outhouse because the pipes broke a few years ago due to freezing, so it was definitely "ruffing it " so to speak. The outhouse has two toilet seats sitting next to each other , it's hilarious. For now you get he visual, I will take pictures next time.
My dad took us shooting on the first day before he took off home. Drove up this bumpy rocky road to a high point in the mountain where the shooting Range was, we were literally right above our cabin on the mountain. We shot a few different guns and it was really exhilarating. The shotgun rifle was my favorite, so heavy and so much force. The mini 14 was a lot easier to use and also really cool to shoot. The handgun I always chicken out of using , but chacha looked like a natural. Jimmy got to shoot a slug bullet out of the shotgun, which was loud and powerful. This was definitely a highlight of the trip.
Getting back we went to dinner and this really amazing fudge candy store that is well known in town and been there for years. I love caramel apples. After we headed home we spent the night dabbing by the fire. A netflix and chill sort of night. Next morning wake n bake and hot chocolate was all that was on my mind , and of course my lovely little family all bundled up in the snow. After hot chocolate and our wake n bake we bundled up even more , rolled some blunts and decides to head out for a walk / hike. It's really awesome, we are 10 acres on an end property and there is no one or nothing behind us for miles, so we can explore for hours. We walked for a few hours til it started to snow a little and that's where we smoked our blunts. The temperature started to drop And we could see a storm coming in, so after a beautiful hike , we set back down the mountain back to our cabin, I could see the smoke coming from the chimney I couldn't wait to get back to warmth.
We took a few more dabs when we returned and signed the guest book. Guests of the cabin havebeen singing in on their trips since the 80s. It's a cool way to keep track and keep memories of whose been there. I hope to bring my girls , my fellow 420nurses up to the cabin for a weekend get away one day. We will be ruffing it , we will be in nature, but it will be SO worth it and such an experience.
