Love Ride was insane!
Yesterday Kooki, Storm, and myself, had the chance to really soak up the sun at the 32nd and final year of Love Ride! We started the day bright and early. We were pretty and headed to Glendale where bikers filled the streets to start the ride over to Castaic Lake. We were hired to pass out information for The Man Clinic, where men can test their testosterone levels, being that the percentage gradually decreases after 30.
It's a weird subject for some men that age, but we were surrounded by bikers, who were really nice and had humor! Haha.
Kooki had taken over 420Nurses Snapchat for the day and got some hilarious footage:p If you don't have 420Nurses Snapchat add >> ilove420nurses << I had minimal footage because my phone was dead most of the day haha. We were walking down the streets in Glendale and hundreds of bikes were parked on all the cross streets! It was CRAZY! My dad, and family members are bikers.. I don't think I've ever seen so many Harley's in my life. Immediately we were posing in front of the sea of bikes! Shout out to Love Ride for having the Charging station! We met some nice cannabis activists charging their phones with us!
When we first entered the gates, the first photographer to take a shot of us was actually a photographer that had taken some photos of my cousin, myself and some biker friends, for the magazine a couple years ago at a Motocross event! So crazy! haha We of course exchanged information!
Walking around passing out hundreds of pamphlets and providing information on the benefits of getting a test was a breeze. So many people were drawn to us automatically cause we were wearing our gear. Left and right, we were approached and connected with so many people. Shared a couple drinks, Seshed, and listened to the live music under the hot sun. (Both Kooki and I got sun burned... Kooki's burn was bad haha poor thing) The place was filled with bikers! The event even ran out of food, water, beer, and even some food the last hour or two of the event. Regardless, still covering our promo tasks, it was a blast being there and seeing the bands, bikes, booths and meeting new,interesting people!
All three of us were hired based on our portfolios on our 420Nurses network! I first RSVP'd for the Love Ride casting call and kept up with the tips to better my chances of getting hired by being active on the site. I wrote a blog and had an interview with the business owner who contacted 420Nurses, before our La Chapter Meeting and got hired! I was so excited when I found out I was going to be working with Kooki and Storm at this event! This was such a great chance for us to network through an event that wasn't Cannabis related, however, so many 420 friendly people came to us cause they noticed our gear! Networking with plugs for magazine photographers, cannabis activists, 420 patients, and other business owners was an exciting experience. We seshed with some really cool people who were familiar with 420Nurses or just 420 friendly people. Some friendly stoners didn't have weed , but luckily Kooki saved the day with the sneak a tokes;] Weed truly brings people together. Not only did the the three of us vibe and were a great team, but we were able to experience live! Social Distortion and The Foo Fighters!!! I hadn't seen either band live before :] Foo Fighters was incredible singing along with the girls and the strangers around us! Foo Fighters singer, Dave Grohl was rocking out on a Harley throne because he had a broken leg. It was awesome !!
The girls and I all have fun personalities and still professional, I can't wait for some upcoming fun with new people we connected with and work more with my 420 girls:]
