This past weekend I was at the 26th annual Boston Freedom Rally and first off what a difference compared to my first one 3 years ago with how relaxed people were about smoking and even dabbing in the Boston Commons. We usually have access to the hill that the monument is on but this year it was blocked off causing the crowd of people to be almost twice as dense as normal but a crowd full of fellow stoners isn't all that bad, it's actually pretty amazing to see how many different types of people come out to support the legalization of marijuana. It's crazy how 3 years ago we were still cautious in the Commons at the rally about smoking and how much bigger of a cop presence there was compared to this year, this year people were walking around with rigs and bongs out and dabbing right in front of officers without either party caring. The first day I walked around with BostonBaked Bri passing out stickers promoting for Social High and had a blast talking to a lot of new faces and meeting Dr. Uma. Sunday we got to relax but had a blast when we got invited into the Dab Slabz bus and met Uncle Stoner and the crew from Smokers Guide TV. The one negative thing I saw over the weekend was on my way out Saturday, as we were leaving we walked past several police officers and vehicles with k-9 units making sure kids weren't selling weed and watching over the event meanwhile across the street in the Boston Public Gardens is this sweet grandma looking lady selling her prescription pills to kids out in the open without a cop in sight. We are at a start with the movement but witnessing that makes me realize how much more work really needs to be done still.
