Great news! Ohio will finally be voting on the death of marijuana prohibition in November, or is it?
ResponsibleOhio has gained enough signatures to have their version of the marijuana bill on the ballot come voting day. We will have to power to decide if it will pass or not, yet many people are not quite sure what the bill actually proposes. under the bill, there would be 10 sites throughout the state, all owned by RO investors, thus creating a monopoly over the cannabis in the state. In order to file for the license to be able to grow up to 4 flowering plants within your own home, you must first pay a $50 fee in order to put in an application that you may be turned down for. I believe that there were some good intentions here, but RO fell a bit short on the writing and fewriting of the bill to appease to the government, who have to allow the draft before it even becomes an option to be titled a bill!
Also on the ballot in November is issue 2, an anti-monopoly bill that was quickly ushered on after many people realized that the government was trying to push the marijuana bill in the same manner that the casino bill was passed in 2009. So even if the prohibition law is passed, if issue 2 is also passed, then it will cancel out the marijuana law and we will be right back where we started.
I am so torn as to what I am going to vote. I would love to see cannabis become legal in Ohio, but I'm not sure this is the way to go. Maybe this is a stepping block in the right direction, or maybe there will be a better bill in the near future. I am torn as to which side of this one my vote belongs to.

I wish I knew more about politics. I am far to ignorant on how such things work so come up with a plausible law haha
