One of the greatest things about 420 Nurses is the fact that we are women. Women have a scientifically proven, natural allure. The shape of our bodies causes the male brain to react the same way as it would on drugs and the sound of a woman’s voice has been proven to be more effective in passing on information than a man’s. Looking sexy is a huge benefit in bringing in onlookers during a convention or at a promo booth or event but, when it comes to approaching a business to create a relationship, it may not be as effective and can even be off putting for some business owners. The cannabis community isn’t traditionally young. The baby boomers generation is actually one of the largest groups of cannabis users. That being said, many of the shop owners I have encountered have been of this age group and appreciate the well worded and well dressed. Here are a couple tips to help you maximize your business potential.
• Confidence is key. Before entering the business, take a moment to do two things: First, remind yourself that you are awesome by creating a mantra, such as “Peace begins with me,” and repeat this a few times out loud. Second, stand with your hands above your head in a “V” shape as though you’re celebrating. This is considered a “Power Stance” and will help lower the stress causing chemical Cortisol in your body and increase the confidence building hormone Testosterone and help you naturally become more confident and comfortable.
• Product knowledge is essential. Do a little research on the shop that you’re visiting by visiting their website or social networks beforehand. Businesses are impressed when they know you’re already in tune with what they’re about. Of course make sure that you know your own brand front to back in case they have any specific questions for you about what you can offer as a 420 Nurse.
• Send them a thank you. Even if you were the one who added them to the 420 Nurses site, be sure to post a review on their web pages as well. This will show them how serious you are about creating the relationship as well as make a lasting after impression to make sure they remember who they are.
• Embed yourself into their brand. Tag photos of yourself or products you have purchased or received from them on Instagram or Facebook. This will generate traffic both ways and help show the business how you two can improve each other’s marketability.
• Be a business woman first. When visiting a shop for the purpose of making your presence known within the community, consider throwing a blazer over your 420 Nurses tank. Pair your tank with a nice pair of high waisted slacks, cigarette pant, or even a slinky pencil skirt. Taking the extra effort to present yourself as a business woman first could be the difference between yes and no.
• Bring a friend. They can offer motivation along the way, take photos or videos so you don’t have to ask another employee or customer and be the designated driver if you happen to receive any free samples along your travels. Getting a DUI in your 420 Nurses uniform is the last thing you want.
Creating a good business relationship is just the same as getting a job, you only get one chance to make a first impression and practice makes perfect. You may not hear “Yes” every time but each time you will get better.
