One Year On 420Nurses

When I joined 420Nurses in March 2014 I didn’t know what to expect from the website, but it quickly became my favourite social media platform. I recognized the 420Nurses logo and was interested to learn more about the company. I did research on the history of 420Nurses and why the company was founded. I was pleasantly surprised to discover the company was run by women (with a little extra help behind the scenes).


After browsing the website and searching through the members I realized 420Nurses was based in the United States. Only a few Canadian members were active on the site and their dedication inspired me to become part of the community. I saw this as an exciting opportunity to promote myself as a model, but also to bring 420Nurses to Canada! I quickly became friends with the Chapter Leaders in Washington, the state closest my province in Canada. I knew right away I wanted to meet as many 420Nurses in Washington as possible to connect with the girls near me.


In July 2014 I decided to try out the Live Chat! Everyone was extremely kind to me and it was fun to blaze with stoners across the world. I began using the Live Chat every day to smoke with my 420Nurses family. I virtually met ChaChaVaVoom and Summer Rain when they said hello to me on mic - it was so exciting! As I became more active on the site I ranked #1 under Most Fans This Month! Feeling accepted by the community encouraged me to purchase my Intern Kit, especially the verbal support from ChaChaVaVoom and Summer Rain.


I became an Intern in September 2014 when I was confident representing 420Nurses was right for me. It was so exciting to open my Intern Kit and read the hand-written post card from ChaChaVaVoom and Summer Rain! I was one step closer to achieving my dreams of becoming a marijuana model / trade show model with my business cards and promotional gear. When I took photos in my new gear the community encouraged me to keep progressing.


In October 2014, LA Weekly featured the 420Nurses in an article on their website. In the article my name was mentioned as one of the unique persona usernames models use on the website. It was an honour to be mentioned! Later that month I won the #SexyHalloweenPicContest hosted by the Emerald City Chapter. Eventually 420Nurses became more than a website and community to me, it became a lifestyle!


I ordered more clothing to represent 420Nurses in my daily wardrobe and support the brand. I have skirts, booty shorts, socks, a canvas bag, and a rainbow collection of tank tops from the 420Nurses store. Summer Rain and ChaChaVaVoom included a post card in my third order that encouraged me to become an Official Intern! I’m grateful for the support from the owners because they’ve supported me from the very beginning. Both Summer Rain and ChaChaVaVoom have encouraged me to bring 420Nurses to British Columbia, Canada!


I began scouting for girls in my area to recruit as site members and photographers. I started with my close friends that were already interested in modelling and supporting the legalization movement. My best friend, Lindsay Marie, joined the website and became the second Intern in British Columbia in March 2015! Over time I encouraged Canadian girls from Instagram to join the website. It was easy to attract new site members, but it has been a challenge to keep the Canadian members coming back.


It can feel discouraging to be so far away from the main events in California, but in order for 420Nurses to expand we need hard working girls across the nation to help the community grow. I believe that only determined and hardworking Interns can bond together to form a successful Chapter, so my goal is to find at least 3-5 more girls in Vancouver, British Columbia who are serious about creating a Canadian Chapter with myself and Lindsay Marie. Until we create our own Chapter, we have been invited to attend events in Washington with our neighbouring Chapters! If you’re not part of a Chapter or there are no Chapters near you, try reaching out to the girls closest to you for support and advice. It took determination and teamwork to create the current Chapters, and it’s possible for us to do the same.


While visiting my boyfriend in Ontario I was able to reach out to more Canadian 420Nurses on the East Coast. I met Katie (@KTGreen420) from Brampton, Ontario and we went on Live Chat in our 420Nurses gear! I got to meet Sasha (@SmokePrincessToronto) in her hometown of Toronto! I also met Dominique (@Kawaii_Baaby) from Barrie, Ontario in February 2015 and we took photos in our matching 420Nurses outfits! It was amazing to meet my internet friends in person! I can’t wait to visit them again to take more photos!


Meeting new people has been one of the best things about joining 420Nurses! I've been able to connect with people who share the same passion for cannabis and network with brands outside of Canada. My experience with 420Nurses has changed my outlook on life and given me countless opportunities in the green industry. In the first 6 months of being a 420Nurses Intern I have been offered promotional jobs in California, Colorado, and even in my own province, British Columbia! I now represent Canadabs Vaporizers and have plans to promote at events with Crop King Seeds Canada.


Becoming an Intern was the best decision I made in 2014! My goals for 2015 are to attend Seattle Hempfest in August, finish my business reviews, write more blogs, take more photos, shoot with a professional photographer, recruit more Canadian models, become an Official Intern, and start the first Chapter in Canada. After one year of being a site member I have 550 fans, 100 photos, and 2,000 profile views. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone that has supported me during my journey; I know this is only the beginning!
