There are some great DSLR camera's out there. So many that it can become overwhelming for new photographers to choose. Canon and Nikon seem to be the most commonly used. You can't go wrong with either.

I currently use the Nikon D5100. Why Nikon? Well for me in the past I have only used Nikon. It's been over 10 years since I bought a camera, but I didn't choose my Nikon without given the Canon a chance. I went into a Best Buy so I could actually play with each one, get the feel of the controls, how it felt in my hand..etc.

Honestly it comes down to preference when choosing a camera.

**Note** The Lens do make a big difference. Get a really good lens, cheap lens can sometime make it seem like something is wrong with the camera.

Nice post and I totally agree on the personal preference part when choosing a camera line.
