The chapters 1-19 were written and completed in 2001, along with a wrap-up 20th chapter wondering about pot’s future and stating the very same ‘why don’t they just’ yada, yada, yada.

Although Chapter 20 catches up on the space between 2001 and Dec. 21, 2012, when I met the 420Nurses and accepted Cha Cha’s invitation to join this site, it was written after experiencing two months at Occupy Los Angeles. The political unity, regardless of the various named causes, was stirring with medical marijuana as the salve for the 99%. As a result, a month after Occupy was shut down, I got my official doctor’s recommendation. This action brought about two epiphanies, one in the summer and the other in the fall.

The summer revelation wrote 90% of Chapter 20, and the fall insight explained the significance of the subtitle that I first wrote down years ago as just sounding ‘right’.

So now, fellows Believers, if you can, medicate and meditate, for the words written here in this chapter are not my own but those words given for me to write to you, in particular, and the outside world in general. I did not know this when I wrote them, but after meeting your group and seeing your goals, I know this chapter was written to you, but that’s our secret. Keep it sticky!! – PT420

IS OCCUPYING MARY JANE GOD’S WILL? Chapter 20 Part 1

Fellow patient PT420 aka PT Rothschild released Memoirs of Mr. Pete & Mary Jane Green, officially on December 21, 2012 for one reason. The re-written Chapter 20, titled above, came about after Occupy Los Angeles and the author’s pot recommendation, a break from being a ‘closet’ aka alter ego smoker since the 60s.

The following daily blog excerpts presented M-F exclusively for 420Nurses/patients expose the real reason behind the world’s fight against marijuana, and the future curiously predicted for a group like the 420Nurses with cannabis in the Bible. Sit back, strap in, and smoke up, the answer to Is Occupying Mary Jane God’s Will? begins with today’s segment.

Part 1

“Now a new President, partially elected on the promises to end the Feds’ persecution in medical marijuana states, has dodged his pot promise while the feds keep raiding storefronts in closing down California. Defeated in the election was the opposition’s chosen Mormon, a 0ne Percenter ex-governor who shipped thousands of American jobs overseas and publicly stated as being opposed to marijuana based on his religion. Meanwhile two states have approved ‘recreational’ pot. This new wrinkle has clouded up the issue of State’s Rights, Amendment 10. And so the beat moves on.

In the years since closing the first nineteen chapters of my memoirs which led up to 2002, a new life has opened for me. When I resumed my relationship with Mary Jane, I noticed a distinct void from my abstinence period was filled. I put this buzz down as a return of the ‘being stoned’ euphoria, since I didn’t consider myself a medical marijuana patient.

However, there was a definite change in my mental attitude towards living in general; as if I had gone from standing still outside in a crowd, lost, to feeling plugged back in to the flow of life. In a couple of days I forgot all about this difference in sensitivity. I would not discern the nature of this mysterious mental aura of well-being that the anti-marijuana literature labels as 'the psychologically additive element' of marijuana until finishing this updated Chapter 20. Meanwhile, back at the ranch.

The return to puffing Mary Jane after the close of Chapter 19 refocused my life back into a spiritual direction that I could sense. It was as if a popular ex-girlfriend and I had hooked back up and the whole block was celebrating. That’s the way my life felt and seemed everywhere I went. But I’m skipping ahead a bit.

The young valley I lived in grew a genuine underground music scene starting around the turn of the century. As a lover of live music down through the years, I became the burgeoning area’s music scene historian/sage having seen the best of the 80’s. Now Mary Jane enhanced my long term memory, lol.

A large piece of my newfangled good fortune came from becoming part of a fledgling online news blog called the Full Value Review, now titled the Temecula Calendar http://temcal.com. Taking the first literary gig since the early 80’s was a way to polish up the journalism skills that I developed in the Artist Magazine days. Since the news blog is very much akin to a small-town press that prints a free urban newspaper, the ‘reporter’ role offers me the freedom to choose my own stories and editorialize on subjects dear to my heart, which far outweighs any financial reward in writing for the status quo press, though it’s not like I didn’t go to school for communications. I didn’t graduate Ivy League, just Top 40 at a junior college.

Becoming a 'citizen journalist' evolved into much more than just a revisit to my writing days of the past. Having access to the underground 14-30 age demo music fan market expanded my political viewpoint from a ‘why don’t they’ to a ‘this is how we livin’ reality view point. Seeing that I now had an audience, I purposely crossed paths with the local medical marijuana activist camp for a return to my political roots. I plugged into their MMJ cause like a ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ by remaining an illegal stoner. Mary Jane, my social co-pilot before going from a device with which ‘to score’ to a daily pick-me-up, was now a cause célèbre. Besides, I already had my regular ‘puffer peeps’ who were all illegal rebel stoners like me.” – end part 1
