Coming up as a graffiti writer and beat hustler, his art has ripened into more complex levels of musicality, and branched out into graphic design, illustration, and videography. He is a husband and father to three kids who have inspired and fuelled an uncanny level of grit, turning him into the creator and producer who can and does do it all. With a sought after sound of indie influenced beats, often incorporating samples, live instrumentation, and heavy drums that leave sore necks as the by-product of rigorous head nodding, he is Northwest Hip Hop’s most innovative voice and greatest renaissance man.

Sapient was born into music and has dabbled in multiple instruments for as far back as he can remember. After being busted for graffiti charges at 18, he took to rapping over his own beats made with a drum machine, a guitar, and an 8-track. This early training blossomed into a distinctive sound of multi-textured arrangements that are structured with the sense of a songwriter. Sapient’s beats have re-defined the sound of Northwest Hip Hop and carried luminary voices from the likes of Macklemore, Aesop Rock, Slug (Atmosphere), Cage, Eyedea and more.
As a vocalist and producer, Sapient has been a member of The Prime (a duo with Living Legends’ front man Luckyiam), as well as Portland’s Debaser, and is a founding member of the Northwest Hip Hop collective, Sandpeople. He tours frequently, spreading his name across the country as an independent artist, and is always hands on: mixing and mastering, designing visual art, directing videos, and developing his unique brand with an insatiable work ethic. Committed to care for his young family and cultivate his creative vision at the same time, Sapient is pushing through boundaries and claiming his own space in the musical lexicon.

Kelley Mak and Jaeda are powerhouses in hip hop independently, so when fate led them to one another at a festival in 2013, joining forces and creating the duo, "The Muzes", happened as organically as their introduction. With musical resumes lending an impressive trail, The Muzes have shared stages and mics with underground heroes and hip hop legends.
The Muzes started 2014 on a self titled all female northwest tour opening for acts like EOTO and Marv Ellis as well as lending they're expertise at the Zulu Nation youth Hip-Hop camp in Portland, OR as MC instructors. Jaeda and Kelley Mak were also on some impressive bills this summer apart, playing with acts everywhere from Beats Antique and Big Gigantic to Zion I and G-Eazy. They finished out the tour season in October headlining with Lyrics Born and Talib Kweli Halloween night, debuting an all female entourage of musicians and dancers, a collective they refer to as the BoomBap Gypsies which is also the title of their forthcoming EP.
When these two come together on stage, the electricity that ensues leaves audiences hair standing. Revered by many, The Muzes stand tall as positive influential women invoking courage and strength through hip hop. Two hearts, two souls, and two microphones.

Since then she has performed across the US, being featured on stages at Electric Forest, What The Festival, Photosynthesis, and more. Having trained in classical & musical theater from age 10 to 18, she brings the professionalism, skill, and individuality of a seasoned veteran into every performance. Whether she is dancing with fire, twisting through an aerial hoop, roving on stilts, or creating intricately beautiful hoop mandalas, Luma lights up the stage with intrigue, inspiration, and an electric stage presence.

This gnOMe has been dancing since birth and spinning fire since 2006. Since then, he has been able to perform in large group/long duration choreographed shows, small group/partner acts and many solo performances (choreographed and improvised). While primarily focusing on Poi manipulations, he has also been able to become well acquainted with many other props such as; Clubs, Contact Ball, Double Staves, Hula Hoops & Skip-it. Recently he has been working with a company called Crispy Clowns to innovate fire performance equipment. Along with core welding from Science of O.M. they have developed the best Fire Poi & Rope-Dart on the market along with the first (and only) Fire Skip-It we’ve ever heard of.
His knowledge and experience with music helps to sync his performance arts well with any music, improvise and choreograph pieces that really match the mood of a song as well as create rhythm in a location where there isn’t music to be heard.
