Becoming a 420Nurses Chapter President has already been fanastic. I had been searching for ways to help the talented and determined ladies who come to me for help or advice on their photos or following. Then I found this network! Seeing everyone find the way they fit in, seeing how much fun we can have while we build, seeing the difference we can make pulling together in times like these... I could not wait to get more info and make a plan to join!

Everyone has extra challenges right now. Nobody has a road map on the best way to get through. One of the only definite things is that we need to find new ways to pull together. That is why I am here and started a chapter in the Chicago area. Life is worth living when we jump in, don't stand back worrying about the challenges. We build our own future, more than ever now, and we are building something beautiful together as part of the 420Nurses.

This is something tangible, growing with intent. We terrify those who are not ready for us and our message of acceptance and fellowship. We push forward anyway because it is who we are.

I was the quiet girl who did not do much socially. I actively avoided photos, moving away the instant a camera came out, stuck to the side of the room or party. Slowly I learned to see the beauty in myself. I lost 100 pounds, and got healthier than I have ever been, and learned to appreciate myself along the way, assisted by cannabis therapy.

Being nearly killed and watching my brother sacrifice his life to save me in 2016 (details in previous blog), changed everything in every way. Major stab wounds and now with no sibling who had always watched over me, I nearly did not make it despite healing physically. It took me over two years to be anything other than a puddle of sadness and despair. But it all led here.

It is OK to give in sometimes, when things feel impossible. None of us are always perfect. But when we get up and decide to make life beautiful again, with the right support network and being ready for opportunity, incredible things happen.

I am a miracle. So are you. Embrace yourself and all you have to offer. Together is how we do this!
