SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I am about 6 weeks into my second little garden. My current garden is a clone of my first Blue Cheese batch. The first time I used some Roots Organic soil, and a 420 watt mars hydro LED. This time I’m using Nutrifield Coco Perlite and a 100 watt Closet Case LED by Spectrum King. Growing is like one big science experiment for me so I thought it’d be fun to share my experiences with others and collaborate on new ideas!

I wanted to talk about the difference between coco vs. soil!!

If I had to choose one personally, I’d pick soil mainly because I’ve quickly learned I don’t have the time during the week to feed my babies what they deserve... But I’m hangin in there until she’s done!

The biggest difference for me is the fact that coco doesn't have buffers called microbes like soil does. Microbes evenly feed the plant as needed, allowing you to water and feed less (efficient) and it saves you money on nutrients because you're not feeding as frequently (double efficient). You also see less deficiencies because the soil has those little soldiers in it (the microbes lol)

On the flip side, you definitely have more control over the nutrients. The plant and nutrient cycles can be a bit intimidating at first, but Canna A & B make it pretty easy with its feeding chart, kudos to them (: I'm noticing that the fan leaves are much lighter in color but that’s about it. But then again, I’m only half way there!
