I went to the Retail Cannabis shop on Jan. 01 . 2014
There where 100's in the line, and since I grow my own, I asked someone if I could share their receipt on 420Nurses.com.
Here is what legal weed looks like....

A historic day in history!!! It was snowing and raining, yet 1000's all around Colorado were braving the cold for legal weed. The cannabis has to be sold in an oblique container that is child resistant.

Total price for 1/4 of weed... almost $90.00!!! Keep in mind that this shop is absorbing the excise taxes to keep the price "low". Many shops average price for legal weed is $60-$70 per 1/8 = $120 - $140 a QUARTER!
You must buy a pre-roll or an 1/8 at a time. There is no buy a gram in retail shops... not allowed.

I personally have witnessed MMJ prices going up 5$ and 1/8 for patients since September 2013. Due to the high prices on Retail Cannabis, MMJ prices are going up too.

They estimate that Colorado will bring in over 70 MILLION in Retail Cannabis sales.... that's a lot of $$$ that is being laundered through the system. Colorado's audit on the MMJ financial year was awful... wasted and lost $$ all over. Not to mention only about 5% of the 40 million that was supposed to go towards the schools will actually make it there... 5%!

With these taxes, prices are HIGHER then black market... This is clearly Class War Fare when only the rich can afford to buy something that is supposed to be legal for all residents. Now the black-market has no worries. I myself heard multiple black market cannabis sellers say on Jan 1st that they are relived at the high prices because their business will not be hurt one bit. When you can pay someone $40.00 for an 1/8 AND they deliver... yea I know where I would go.

Also notice that the person's name is on the receipt. They will scan your ID. This is part of the "seed to sale" law.

Although legalization is ideal, we must be very careful at the laws that we pass. Amendment 64 had many good qualities, but there were also many bad side effects. We are now experiencing both sides and figuring out how to adjust.

2014 will be a weedy road with lots of hope. The war is not over and we are just getting started. We still have 48 states that need regulation/legalization. We still have 20+ states that do not even allow MMJ! Your voice is REQUIRED.

Amendment 64 paved the road for over-taxation. This is WHY I FOUGHT AGAINST PROP. AA. This is why YOU NEED TO BE INVOLVED IN YOUR LOCAL LEGALIZATION EFFORTS! Let's FREE THE SEED. THERE IS NO PRICE TAG ON FREEDOM!
