“At the same time that MJ was coming to the forefront, my life was changing. The walls between working a real job and the California Dream were dissolving. I had no clue but I sensed something was happening. Scary at first, I began to see that you could live ‘like a Mexican’, outside the system, using only cash and having minimum bills with no credit payments, ironic blow-back from my being kicked into Paradise.

Riding a bicycle and not smoking cigarettes (thanks to Trinkette) has a certain freedom when you live by cash only outside the banking system. A decrease in junk mail by 99% is just the beginning. In the end also, before receiving money that I paid into the social security system “working for a living, taking what I’m given” [- Huey Lewis], I learned to live ‘as an artist’. For me that is the ‘California Dream’; doing what you like, while the pieces of your survival fall into place, all in great weather!

Mornings I would awake with maybe a loose plan for the day and by the end of the night all my daily needs and pot smoking had been taken care of. There were also cases of some special needs that got met, as if by ‘magic’ through friends. At first I tried not to notice this aspect too close for fear my charmed life would get jinxed but then I gradually relaxed, settling in to a life of writer/journalist/ reviewer/war correspondent/adventurer with a set of old friends at a Cheers sans alcohol venue, a lifestyle not unlike that of a country squire or a gentleman farmer. Vonnie’s mom, Rebecca, once said to me, “How much better is it for the Lord to take care of you, rather than money?”

As I celebrate my 67th year on this planet I’ve tried to show with the ‘memoirs’ presented here and in my regular news columns on the Temecula Calendar website, that the world is not how it appears or is taught to us by our leaders. For whatever reason, we as a species seem deliberately kept in the dark about our true origins. Idiocracy is as true as The Matrix. For example, go to any country in the world and get a calendar in their native language. Every week on that calendar is seven days long and runs from Sunday to Saturday. Whatever symbol or word they use for Thursday will translate into 'Thursday’, but the linguistic history of the word ‘Thursday’, is that once upon a time Thursday was originally Thor’s Day.

It matters not whether this nug of information was lost through conspiracy or religious politics. Be not concerned about the problem, only know that there is a problem and seek a key to an explanation. Remember, there are seven things existing in John’s Revelation that he was told to not write down, and so these 7 secrets are not revealed to man, yet!

In that light I’d like to close out this last chapter by stepping outside the picture of pot as a drug, either recreational or medicinal. Both those points are moot and constitute a dance with the Devil. Jack Herer was correct to state that ‘the fight over hemp is about the whole plant, not just about marijuana.’

I would also like to acknowledge the considerable effort put forth by Jack’s Emperor Editors, Judy and Lynn Osburn, who co-authored Green Gold The Tree Of Life, Marijuana In Magic and Religion with Chris Bennett. Without those two landmark collections of marijuana knowledge, the next and perhaps most quixotic ‘memoir’ of my life would have remained just that. I urge every reader here to obtain copies of Jack’s Emperor and Green Gold if you don’t have one.” – end part 3
