Responsible for building valuable relationships and landing new business with various customers quarterly, including chain stores, mass/value retailers, & major department store accounts.
Develop sales targets and strategies with the help of the sales team, and oversee constantly to ensure that these targets are met.
Knowledgeable in multiple fabrication types, primarily in wovens
(i.e. polyester/rayons/cottons/etc.) and knits in all categories (i.e. tops, bottoms, dresses, etc.)
Proactively merchandise the line(s) for the company’s divisions and work closely with the design team on product development and collections as per individual needs for clients and potential new business opportunities
Research and analyze retail trends and share relevant information with sales and design teams
Display efficiency in gathering market and customer info to enable negotiations regarding variations in prices, delivery and customer
Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling/networking/etc.
Attend industry exhibitions, trade shows, etc. and set up client meetings to serve as representative for brand through presentations and pitching
Minimum of 5-10 years as a sales executive in the apparel industry
Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques
Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations and maintaining professionalism
Travel will be required based on meetings/clients
This position is based in Los Angeles--no relocation offered
Knowledge of MS Office, Google Drive, etc.
