The City of LA has thrown another wrench in the works.

The Revised Draft Requirements for Commercial Cannabis Activity in the City of Los Angeles were released yesterday. You can find them here. We are extremely alarmed by the draft, which prohibits ALL non-retail license types from operating in the City of Los Angeles until the receipt of a local license.

Yes you read that correctly: Every cultivator, manufacturer, delivery service, lab and distributor will be forced to stop operating until they receive an LA City license.

It’s a terrible regulation that will ruin businesses and kill jobs.

LA dispensaries will not be able to secure local products for sale.
All other license types will have-to close their doors for months.
Workers will lose their jobs and/or face massive pay cuts.
Patients will not have the access guaranteed by MCRSA, Prop 64 and Measure M.
The illicit market will thrive in LA.
What can YOU do to fight this latest assault on patients, businesses, workers, and the 80% of LA voters who passed measure M? Two things:

1. On Monday, September 25 at 11 AM, the City's Rules, Elections and Intergovernmental Relations (REIG) Committee will meet and hear public testimony. It is vitally important you attend so we can show a massive, unified voice.

SPECIAL MEETING - RULES, ELECTIONS, AND INTERGOVERNMENTAL RELATIONS COMMITTEE
Monday, September 25, 2017 JOHN FERRARO COUNCIL CHAMBER, CITY HALL, ROOM 340 - 11:00 AM
200 NORTH SPRING STREET, LOS ANGELES, CA 90012

2. Sign the LACTF, UCBA and UFCW Local 770 petition: PETITION LINK. http://lacannabis.pages.ontraport.net/petition If you live in the City of Los Angeles, add your name and spread it far and wide!

California is less than 100 days away from issuing state licenses, and the LA industry will be left behind if these regulations stand. USE YOUR VOICE TO PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS!

Please reach out to or reply to this email for the petition email and social media graphics.

Thanks, as always,
LA Cannabis Task Force
