Hi there Smile you don't know me and I don't know you, but id like to change that. After you read this blog don't be shy about sending me a message with a little bit about yourself and why you decided to start smoking marijuana.
First and foremost my name is Ashley Stone. I was born in Killeen, Texas, but was moved around to about 3 different states before my family finally decided to settle down in Arizona when I was 3. When I was 4 years old I was enrolled into dance classes.
When I was about 10 year old something happened in dance that changed my life. I remember that I wasn't very flexible and the teachers were trying to change that. My hips would start hurting if I kept my leg up for too long. Well one day we were doing wall center splits and the teacher came over to me and pushed my legs down... the pain that I felt immediately brought me to tears. I still continued to dance because it was something I enjoyed and even though it hurt, I was always taught that beauty took pain.
At the time I didn't know why it had hurt me so much and It wasn't till years later when I finally had a doctor take x-rays of my hips to find out that I have Hip Dysplasia. When I first found out that I had hip dysplasia it was scary, the doctor told me that they can do surgery to help, but I might not be able to dance again. On the other hand I might have to get hip replacement by the time I am 40. That was a lot for me to take in, but I continued to dance anyways. It wasn't until I was 16 that I had found my new passion color guard.
My freshmen year of high school I was in a lot of electives dance, orchestra, and and of course color guard. Color guard is the group of entertainers that work with the marching band during half time at football games to give the bang color and that extra flair of excitement. Normally the color guard consists of four elements: Flag, Rifle, Sabre, and Dance line. In my senior year I was in all four lines. The only thing that could have made it better is if i wasn't having to take 800mg of ibuprofen 4-5 times a day.
One day during my senior year I had a close friend who really wanted me to try weed as an other option. My body didn't feel well with taking so many pills, and even though I was completely against the idea of medical marijuana at the time, I trusted my friend knowing he only wanted what was best for me.
The marijuana helped a lot and got me off of my pain meds. I was able to continue with color guard into the collage level with the ASU guard. Unfortunately due to family matters I was unable to continue to afford the costs of traveling and had to stop.
Its been about 3 years now since I have performed on type of any stage and I miss it. I still practice dancing and use my equipment every now and then but its not the same as seeing the reaction on someones face when you catch a toss or do a neat trick. Even though I am not in color guard anymore I took the skills that i learned along the way and apply them to my every day life, like team work and researching how to find events.
I go to any cannabis event that i can find in my community and most people know who I am. I'v also been starting to learn and have an interest for glass blowing and am excited to start making art. Many people that I know already count on me to know where events are, where to find good nice glass, and also who is donating the best meds to medical patients. I miss performing and would hopefully like to bring back that part of my life with 420 nurses.
