I am working on my full tattoo sleeve at Surreal Limits Tattoo in Van Nuys, CA. You can find my review of their shop on their business page , here on 420nurses.com but Id like to share my experience every step of the way. I always feel comfortable coming here to get tattooed. Not only is it always an experience to cherish, I feel a huge connection with this place! I love the vibes and energy! I have never felt more comfortable, I really picked the right place to work on my biggest art piece yet! Just before Halloween, on October 26, 2014 Charlie Brown and I started my sleeve at Surreal Limits.

My original inspiration for the sleeve comes from an old Grateful Dead "Harvester Sunflower Skeleton" T- Shirt, of a skeleton grazing in a sunflower field, pouring, what looks like trippy, glistening water, on the flowers; bringing them to life. To me, even though the skeleton is appears dead, and alone, through natural love and nurture is able to still give life to others. Sounds like a total hippie saying this, but what can I say? I feel connected with the Grateful Dead , and admire the "free love" lifestyle that thousands of people, even in my own family, were able to carry out and experience. Anyways....back to the tattoo....

Charlie Brown is an awesome artist born and raised in Los Angeles, and really worked with me on my ideas for this sleeve. Knowing we wanted to put a spin on my ideas, make the original old, style t-shirt our own, Charlie and I worked on a starting image for a little over and hour going back and forth on different ideas, styles, and colors, until, the starting image, was ready to place on my arm. Until we came up with the image we both felt was perfect.

A starting carbon image of the skeleton was placed on my upper left arm, and from that point on, my skin would never be the same.

I couldn't believe how many colors of Charlie had laid out ready for my arm, different shades of red and green, yellow and blue, grey, black, and white, all layed out in silicone tattoo ink cups. Charlie Uses Fusion Tattoo Ink and says its the brightest and best he has yet to find.

On our first session on my sleeve, we went in for about 71/2 hours ! which is the longest Ive been tattooed to date! I could already start to see my tattoo come to life, and with just a half- sleeve I left like a Tattoo Model! I am so pleased and happy with my ink. I feel I am becoming the model I want to be thanks to 420nurses and also Big Thanks to Surreal Limits Tattoo! Charlie Brown has really made this experience awesome for me! Also wanted to thank my beautiful girlfriend ChachaVavoom for sharing this experience with me<3

Our 2nd session February 15, 2015, I was thinking we were going to move on to my elbow, thankfully, We went back in on the upper arm we were able to put in more white ink to the upper arm and add the yellow sun rays to the top! The elbow is something Im really dreading , I hear its a painful spot! Lol Pain is beauty they say. But Im still nervous. Adding the white ,touching up the color, and defining the lines really made a difference. This time Charlie and I worked together for about 3 hours. On this lovely day, 2 lovely 420nurses also had the pleasure of getting their 420nurse logo Ink Injection! Make sure to Follow Green MnM and Dabbarella who came with me on this Sunday Sunday and got some awesome surreal ink! Dabbin Maddie and Summer Jane also joined Chacha and I for this fun day at Surreal Limits Tattoo Shop! And my tattoo is now becoming more apart of me, and I am getting complimented daily on the artwork. I feel this ink really pops on my skin and I can't wait to have more.

Our 3rd session was March 22nd, a little over a week ago, and now my tattoo is almost done healing. I came into Surreal Limits , as excited as can be, accompanied by, ChachaVavoom, & the lovely Stella Blaze who came to support and hangout. I love that Surreal Limits is not only 420friendly , but doesn't judge or discriminate their clientele. This makes for a much more comfortable experience.

This Ink session meant alot to me because I got a tattoo for my mom who, amongst many other complications, struggles from Lupus SLE or systemic lupus erythematosus. Which is an inflammatory disease caused when the immune system attacks itself.

The butterfly is a symbol of Lupus as is a purple ribbon with a knot tied in it. The purple represents courage and endurance, while the center symbolizes the complexity and uncertainty of the illness. Butterflies are beautiful. They are bright confetti with wings. Even though, they begin their lives crawling, in the end they soar to great heights. This is what my tattoo represents for my mom. She has always been the strongest person in my life, and even though she is not my biological mother, I feel she is apart of me. and Now with this tattoo, she really can be.

Charlie and I placed that carbon on my skin, once again, and I was ready.

Buzzing away, charlie filled my skin with beautiful colors, and this time, It was alot closer to my elbow! I swelled like a balloon! Lol I love the experience of tattoos, the needle can push your body to limits you never even knew existed. That true Surreal Limit. A reminder that you can always surpass those limits and push your thresholds.

Big thanks for Charlie Brown from Surreal Limits for all the good vibes and memories! I will always cherish these experiences and cannot wait to build new ones! Anyone in the Greater Los Angeles Area, looking to get tattooed, should definitely stop by Surreal Limits Tattoo Studio! You won't Regret it! Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more progress and updates on my future ink injectionsSmile
